I like to keep these posts rather short, so I’m only going to talk about specific parts of Highrise in the upcoming posts. In this one, I’m going to start focusing on the actual website and what it offers. Specifically the “home page” for the web app… the Latest Activity page.
You can see there are are few things showing on the full screen view. On the left, you have your basic site navigation. This gets you where you want to be in the app. On the right you have a nice, simple, condensed view of all the tasks you have on your plate. For now though, we are concentrating on the center section of the display. This is your “heartbeat”.
The center section shows a running list of all the activity that’s been going on in Highrise. You can see completed tasks, attached files, emails and notes for any contact that you have in Highrise. Remember in the prior post, you don’t need to be in the app to add information to it. So if you’ve been BCCing emails from your email app to your Highrise dropbox email account you’ll now see them here in the Latest Activity page. If you have several people adding information this page is invaluable because in one quick look you can see what everyone has been doing for your customers.
You can filter this information as well. In the upper right you have 2 drop downs. One allows you to filter the information by the user who entered the information (a little “big brother” action here) and the other allows you to select the type of view (Excerpt or List view). Excerpt view allows you to see small blurbs from each entry where the list view gives you a basic listing of information for each entry.
Simple, clean and full of information… just like a CRM should be.
